NuScan 2800U Omnidirectional 2D Bar Scanner – Designed primarily for P.O.S. retail environments, the Adesso NuScan 2800U is a hands-free heavy-duty desktop barcode scanner that allows you to continuously and rapidly scan various barcoded items without omissions or errors on first-pass reads. Its built-in 640 nm engine and fast 30 FPS scan rate allow you to reliably read barcodes on various shapes and is a great space-saver for busy or limited workspaces. The 2D scanning engine offers decoding capability for 2D barcodes like PDF417, Data Matrix, QR Code, MicroQR as well as common 1D barcodes. The scanner?s spill resistant design helps to prevent fluids from staying inside, which would otherwise cause damage to the scanner. Equipped with its CMOS sensor the device has a motion tolerance of 5 inches per second, offering fast and accurate scanning results. With its drop protection design, the NuScan 2500TU is less likely to become damaged due to accidental drops. The 2D CMOS decoding engine is able to scan barcodes up to 12 inches scan depth.

The NuScan 2800U is a solid performer for our retail environment. It handles 2D codes like PDF417 and QR really well, and the scan speed is excellent. The only minor thing is the cable could be a bit longer for more flexible placement on our counter, but it’s not a deal breaker. Overall, it’s reliable and does exactly what we need.

This scanner is fantastic for our checkout counter. The omnidirectional 2D capability reads QR codes and Data Matrix barcodes perfectly, which our old scanner couldn’t handle. The 30 FPS scan rate is impressively fast, and it catches everything on the first pass. We’ve eliminated scanning errors since switching to the NuScan 2800U. Highly recommended for any retail operation.

We’ve been using this for three weeks now and it’s been dependable. The omnidirectional scanning means we don’t have to position items perfectly anymore, which has improved our workflow considerably. The 2D barcode support is great for our inventory tags. One observation: the manual could have been more detailed about initial setup, but we figured it out. Good value for the price.
